Francis, my job seeker handler person, whom I only see once every 6 weeks and haven't seen for a month just phoned and I panicked. Apparently for no reason because she saw a job that they have just gotten in today for a Vet receptionist position, which I mentioned about 2 months ago and immediately thought of me. Aside from being amazingly touching in a quite genuine way it also suggests that I am a memorable person. That is something I never considered before, I mean imagine all the people she must see everyday let alone every month and she picked me as being perfect for this job! I am happy

Dear everyone (especially bytheseaside since you will be coming to this soon) It is -4.7C outside. That is cold! I believe it may actually qualify as "fecking cold" but I am not sure.

I had my interview yesterday, which went relatively well. My interviewer knew and liked Basil the Great Mouse Detective! It was a double interview so I was having it with a guy called Ben. His first words in the actual interview part were "I don't have that much cash handling experience." Score! There are "A few positions, but wee are still undecided about how many." positions available so. The only thing is that if I do get this job I will probably be working boxing day which means I will be alone this Christmas. Hence the Elvis. *points at subject* I don't know maybe it is a good thing. I mean the last few Christmas' haven't been so good, ie depressing, confusing, disappointing, family bust ups and lets not forget on at least one occasion a physically painful blur . Maybe a break from Christmas would be good. Anyway Woot! Likely job prospects! Free Cinema Tickets! Money! ~~Not getting my Paladin to lvl 80 in a month!~~ Getting out of the house on a regular basis and seeing people!

Okay I think I have found an explanation for dimensionally transindental (aka how the TARDIS works) in a Terry Pratchett novel of all places. If you shrink time you can expand space. As there isn't really much time in the Tardis in any practical sense ie things don't age/go off etc then you could you could use all the excess continuum to make more space. Brilliant!

Secondly I have found The Book. No not that book, but my Book. Have you ever held a book and just touching it has made you quiver? It is a copy of "Tales from the perilous realm." by Tolkien, which is quite possibly my favourite book of all time anyway, but this hard back is so beautifully illustrated and awesome. Only I can't buy anything for myself in November (personal rule) in case somebody buys it for me for Christmas and it causes complications. Role on December 27th so I can get my book! Also if you haven't read it I would advise you to do so. it is a collection of short stories and poems so don't worry if the epic scale of his other works is a little off putting. On the other hand if you like epics read the Silmarillion. It is awesome although very very epic.

She Bit Me! My Mother Bit Me!. I was showing her the very beginning of Blink, you know the creepy bit with the wall and she bit me. That is how creepy that is. Ouch.

Also anyone watching Children in Need? (When have you ever seen a child who wasn't in need?: Dylan Moran) and firstly OOD! Secondly did you see the first biker guy, the one in Peru? Mark Beaumont is the brother of a friend of mine and he was one of the featured fund raisers in Children in Need! I just think that's cool. Also check out his book "The man who cycled the world." I won't bother describing it for you because that's pretty much what it is.

Dear Brain,

The L Word and Wizards of Waverley Place are fictional, more than that they are separate fictions. Just because someone appears in both does not mean they have the same personality in both. Basically Disney has NOT made a show with a lesbian vampire! I mean for crying out loud it's Disney. Besides she is married to the short funny looking one.

Anne and Sean (Step grandparents) are here for a week. Which is nice, but makes me feel guilty if I ever leave them alone. There here for a week I dont have to be with them every minute, but its not a rational thing. They got here on saturday, which means I am sleeping on the air bed. This would be fine, but it was freezing last night so I am shattered this today. Also my Mum found Shania Twain "Come on Over" which just happens to be the CD that last week I mentioned I used to sing along to.

Applied to loads of places today all of them retail. This includes Thorntons so Mum is pleased. Also checked up on my Subway application and that seems to be going nowhere. On a related note, OMG the subway girl is beautiful. And I dont even mean regular or model beautiful! I mean seriously I saw the womans eyes and all my brain could do was go "Blue!" Thankfully there was an annoying woman who was phoning someone to confirm there order being served before I had to talk so I remembered some English. Which was lucky because it turns out that she is the manager who is handling the applications. I should eat more subways me thinks :o) Also finally worked up the nerve to say hi to someone on OKcupid without them talking to me first or running to someone for help. Only took about two years, but thats progress right?

When I was young I thought I was a Jedi, I woke the house at 0630 singing along to Shania Twain, I read stories about faeries and dragons and asked odd questions.

Now I am 21 and I have grown up, I read books where faeries and dragons are symbols, I mouth along to Shania, quiet like, I know the questions aren't odd the answers are just more complicated than I first thought. I still attempt to use the force on a regular basis despite the overwhelming evidence against my abilities. I learnt to think I learnt laugh, I learnt to just be a little insane, but really deep down I think I just got bigger.

It's been quite a busy week or 7 days anyways. The highlights are

Wednesday: Hit my elbow hard causing some minor muscle damage making it physically painful to raise my arm and difficult to raise a cup.

Thursday: My little sisters birthday. Amongst other things she got a beautiful Georgian dolls house, which is big and heavy. I had to carry it upstairs and replace the very large, very old, very heavy TV in her room. Alone. I almost cried

Friday: Arm felt like it would fall off, rested. Little sister had a sleep over so rested is a loosley applied term.

Saturday: Went to see cloudy with a chance of meat balls. It is a fun film. "Steve!!!"

Sunday: Continued painting decking from earlier in the week. Decking still not finished. Performed heavy garden duties such as replacing mesh ground sheets and industrial scale weeding.

Monday: Moved variety of large plants from there initial plots to new garden layout. Carried lots of gravel and laid it out nicely. Had odd dream where me and my girlfriend were haunted by a previous girlfriend I had murdered . Am still confused

Tuesday: Arm has finally stopped hurting when flexed. Unsure why I was forced to do so much heavy lifting when drinking tea was painful.

Tomorrow: Must finish decking!

So I had my 13 week Job seekers interview. That is just sad. Anyways it was all a bit informal because I have so blatantly being applying for every job I see. I have quite a few bar and waiting jobs in my bag to look at. I really didn't want to go back into that line of work, but what the hell I need money. Also after not getting the fish job yesterday I was upset. Very very upset :o( But I found what I will be calling Son of Fish Job *pause for awed silence* Which is looking and neural development and regeneration in the Zebrafish. For those of you who aren't me my Honours project was on retinoic acid, which is a major signalling molecule in the development and regeneration of you guessed it neural tissue. I do mean major, so much so that it is being considered as a treatment for things such as Alzhiemer's disease. It is also that thing in skin cream. I think I might have a better chance for this one.

Right so talking.

I applied for another job at SMI (the fourth one I think) and haven't heard anything back yet. This one is in the reagents lab and so I might be a little more qualified. The advantages of this place are obvious if you know anyone who works there (like my mum and step-dad.) £19k a year plus £5k in flexi benefits including a pension, life and health cover plus some others like chilcare vouchers, which I can choose from. Also it is still in Stirling so a short commute and in two or three years I will be able to say I contributed to the production of a multi-billion pound device. That would look good on a CV. Also they provide a huge range of optional personal advancement courses, so I could study while I work, kinda.

I went to Games Workshop (GW) last Friday for a game and lost :o( It is the first one in about a year I think so it isn't too bad. Also I was plaving double Dutch me and a guardsman against Necorns (think skeletal cybermen) 3/4 was my army 1/4 the guard. Problem was my partner just sat there and watched me get shot at and did nothing *fumes* Still I did almost win. On Sunday I got nearly £40 worth of models of ebay for about £10 + p&p. They go with my new army and make it actually useable so I might use them tomorow if they are delivered today. I hate bidding on things on ebay you panic while you wait.

It rained yesterday. Alot. I appear to have a hole in my shoe.

Also I have started playing WoW again. This is sad, but I need the social interaction.

The fish job and SMI should hopefully get back to me soon. I don't care anymore I just need a job. On a related note next thursday is my 13 week review for the JSA. Being on the dole is just depressing.

Okay so I just saw The Hulk for the first time and yes I know I am a little behind on this one. The movie I mean I knew the comics/cartoons/TV series. The only problem is I got about half way through and thought "How awesome would a Bruce Banner meets meets Oz (Buffy) fic be. I mean they could fight and compare anger management techniques and as an added bonus there is the science vs magic thing.The big problem would be which Hulk story line to use. The film might not be bad, at least Bruce is still very scientific and alone.

But it would be funny if it happened to somebody else

Earlier today the swine flu had me curled up with the toilet, which is not a fun activity in itself. Just as I get myself under control it strikes me. That is the toilet seat does, right on the ack of the head. I swear it was like something out of Friends and now my head hurts. Not from the toilet seat, but it just got really bright in here.

I am rewatching the key to time series with my little sister, which is fun. It is the first old Who that she has seen and she likes it and Romana. The only problem is that having an eight year old curled up on your lap when all you can think is "guh Romana" makes you feel like a dirty old man. So far we are only up to "The Pirate Planet." and I forgot how insane it is. All the "by the left frontal lobe of the sky demon!" stuff left us both laughing. As well as having a few brilliant out of context bits such as "She is prettier than you master." from K-9. Also Romana and the Doctor lying on the floor all rumpled (R) "We did it." (D) "Yes, but the question is will we ever be able to do it again?" And Romanas eyebrows! I do wish that she had met the Brigadier just so they could have both eyebrowed the Doctor at the same time.

Just a quick word. My sister is doing much better, but she still looks worn out despite being hyper. My mum is starting to show signs though (cough, headache and exhaustion.) Other than needing to clear my throat alot I seem more or less fine and that is probably more monkey see than anything else.

I managed to apply to all but one of the eight jobs I found on Thursday. Irritatingly this was the one at Stirling uni and therefore the shortest comute. I wouldn't mind, but they gave me such a run around. The Job description was;
"Research Fellow. This position is for 12 months. Further particulars and an application form are available from..." Of the standard contact details the both phone number and e-mail address supplied were incorrect. I assume that the address is right, but I didn't try it. FinallyI find the right e-mail address and ask for information and get an automated response back, which I more or less ignore. I then get an email from the HR services telling me to go to a link on the previous email. When I get there I am confused by the presence of two research fellow positions. After looking at them both I realise they were both psycology positions and so irrelevant to my skills.I have been trying to get details on the job for four days. Honeslty a brief description of the duties, research project or even the name of thedepartment it was with would have been enough. Oh and if anyone is looking for psycology based jobs in or around Stirling ask and I will give you the correct link (that's right the link in the e-mail is also broken.)

The fish job, the fish job that I want so badly it has kept me awake a couple of times, had its application close date on Saturday. I have had no mail, eamails or phone calls todday what so ever. I know that they need time to sort through the applications and arrange stuff, but today has been hell. This week is going to be awful until they get back to me Please let me get this job.
